Wat je gaat doen

SUPER SALE! We’ll visit the "Ghost Station" where we will discuss how the city has cleverly repurposed many of its old buildings. Built in 1912, the original station was destroyed by an earthquake in 1923, leaving only its platform and some stairs, which remain today. Re-generation came in 2013 after the station was transformed into a collection of trendy boutiques and restaurants where the trains still regularly pass through, giving this shopping mall a quirky edge.
We will take a group picture in a quirky photo booth that will make you look like an anime character yourself, with big eyes and perfect skin. Next will be at an urban space under the train tracks that used to be a car park but now, home to 50 shops and cafes.
Just around the corner, next stop awaits. A formal junior high school that due to a drop in Japan’s youth population, it’s been transformed into an arts centre featuring galleries, creative space, a cafe, shops and a rooftop organic garden.
A short subway ride will take us into the heart of Tokyo, where we will pass by the Imperial Palace. Godzilla is next on our Tokyo agenda, no doubt the unspoken icon of the city for nearly a century.
Finally, we will settle in a typical izakaya (Japanese pub) to have drinks, snacks and meet the Izakaya owner.
Other things to note
Please make sure to arrive on time, preferabily a few minutes before the experience starts. To provide a great experience to the guests we will start on time and won't accept guests that arrive delayed.

Only kids from 12 years old are accepted on the tour.

Hello there!
My name is Kazu. I am Japanese, born and raised in Japan. I used to study in the U.S and love language and meeting new people.
During this time, I met a group of friends that love to share their passion about the Japanese culture. Inspired on the New York Times Journeys articles, here we will tell you how the concept of "mottainai" (no waste) and the lack of space in Tokyo can change the use of old buildings in new innovative uses in benefit of the community.
Om veilig te betalen en communiceren, is het belangrijk dat je altijd gebruik maakt van de Airbnb-website of -app. Meer informatie
