  • It was a great place to stay! The location is unbeatable. The room was cute and perfect for one person. I had an excellent time.

  • The Gray Rock Inn is my first hostel and I was pleasantly surprised. I thought it would be noisy but it was actually rather quiet. I never had to wait for the bathroom. It is a beautiful, historic property within walking distance of everything. Restaurants, bars, breweries, theaters, shopping, you name it. Peggy greeted me at arrival and she was very friendly and helpful. This is the perfect place for a solo traveler or couple wanting to explore the city by foot, and an excellent value for something so centrally located.

    Darius2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • An older home, so simple but nice. And you can't beat the location, right in the heart of downtown, walking to distance to more stores, bars & restaurants than you can cover in a weekend!

  • Location Location Location! Great spot very walkable. 2nd floor porch is awesome and overlooks brewery. Small fire pit in the back, didn’t use, but still nice.

Dragonfly Cottage built in 1905 is vintage Asheville boarding house, mix of modern (completely updated) and old. Walking distance to Brewery"s, or downtown shops and restaurants. Downtown neighborhood can be loud. Some people are not prepared for noise and street people. Sweet front flower garden, large front porch, and front parlor available to guest at all times. Old dog Levi is now confined to back of the house, host living quarters and back yard, not trustworthy around guest.
Couple or singles get away! Nice old world bedrooms. Two rentals up stairs this one is on the front of house with private bath across the hall. The other rental is Dragonfly Cottage II on back of house with ensuite bath. Both have comfortable queen size beds. Bathrooms completely updated. Local art displayed to create a mix of old and new. Pease ask about the artist. Parlor room downstairs available for those that can't sleep (not wanting to disturb partner) and/or want a place to sit, and read. Have a bourbon before retiring, a southern tradition!
This is a downtown transitional neighborhood with 24/7 activity. Grocery, art's theater, restaurants, brewery's are all right down the street. Friday night drum circle is a must in Asheville.
  • Our stay with Paula at the dragonfly cottage was wonderful! The location was great - we felt very safe and it was an easy walk to downtown (which is especially nice to be able to avoid the high parking fees downtown). We had a private bathroom across the hall, complete with a beautiful claw-foot tub. Paula was helpful and communicative throughout. We would definitely go back!

    Katie2017-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • The Dragonfly Cottage was just what we needed after a busy family wedding weekend. Paula is a gracious and generous host and Levi is the sweetest pup you could meet. We can't wait to come back! Highly recommend!

    Rebecca & Matt2017-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • We LOVED Paula, her dog Levi, & dragonfly cottage! The coffee bar was amazing, the bed was so comfy, we could walk everywhere and Paula truly went above and beyond as a host. The coffee bar and extra goodies Paula provided were a great touch. Will most certainly recommend to anyone visiting Asheville!

    Christine2018-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Friendly gracious host in a beautiful quaint home. Quick walk to South Slope as well as downtown restaurants and shops.

    Anthony2017-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Located in between downtown Asheville and the Biltmore Estate, exactly what we needed! Very clean and the owner and her dog Levi are so friendly and welcoming that I would come and stay there whenever I come back!!

    AnnJolie2017-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great proximity to downtown. It’s an easy walk. Beautiful historic home. Paula is an excellent host. Fresh cut flowers were in the room and various beverages were available. Thank you!

    Taylor2018-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Paula’s place was a great easy place to stay for our 2 days in Asheville. Self Check-in was very easy and everything was clean and easy to find on our own. The house is old so the floors creak a little but nothing that was unexpected. The room was very comfortable. We loved that she had a noise machine to help drown out other guests and house construction. It was also very nice to have coffee right outside of our room in the mornings! It’s definitely walking distance to a lot of main restaurants, shops, etc.. however be prepared to walk for 15+ minutes to get there. I also would not recommend walking to or from the BnB after dark. All in all it was a great place to stay for a few nights and would recommend it!

    Laura2019-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous home & centrally located within walking distance to downtown Asheville. Paula recommended some great areas to explore in West Asheville as well during our stay!

  • This is an excellent, private and clean residence. The check in and out is simple. It is in close walking distance to downtown. The recommendations are the best while in the Asheville area.

  • Great, small space for a visit to Asheville. The studio is small but has great amenities that made it super functional - coffee station, dining table, a spacious closet, drawers for all your personal items, and a nice patio. Perfect and affordable!

    Sally2019-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • First of all, Brett is awesome. He was super accommodating, thoughtful, and helpful! I think my mom ate almost all of the York candies he had for us in the cottage. There was also a list of recommendations for local Asheville stuff and we were not disappointed (definitely check out Curate if you're looking for a super fun and delicious dining experience!) Seriously, stop searching for other places to stay and book here! This AirBnB was perfect for two people looking to explore all that Asheville has to offer. We were less than a 10 min walk to the middle of downtown and Brett provided super easy walking directions for day and night time!

    Claire2019-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Brett's spot in Asheville was perfect place for my wife and me. Parked our car and walked to several local spots. Highly recommended!

    Matt2019-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Truly takes hospitality to another level. Checking in throughout the stay to make sure we had everything we needed. Really thoughtful amenities. Most of the time when you travel you don’t spend much time where you’re sleeping....we spent one of our afternoons just in the Airbnb and binge watched Netflix.

    Jasmine & Amanda2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Brett's place was very accurate to the description.. a short walk to downtown, which we followed some recommendations in the house manual and enjoyed local spots. Clean, and private ! We were impressed by Asheville and will be back!

  • My husband and I loved staying in Brett’s place! It was so cute and so close to everything. We walked all over downtown Asheville and visited the shops and a restaurant for dinner. It was great not to have to pay for and find parking downtown. We enjoyed the coffee and snacks provided as well! Definitely a great choice for a stay in the heart of Asheville!

If you want an in-town experience, this is it! Perfectly situated near downtown in a quiet historic neighborhood. Every element has been curated to create a special experience, including original artwork and hand-painted furniture, cotton linens & comfy bed. A beautiful en-suite bath has been designed for your convenience. Enjoy coffee, tea & snacks, while gazing at the backyard. A mini fridge, electric kettle, coffee maker & all the kitchenware is supplied. Guest wing with private entrance. Smoking only permitted outside. If you are bringing a pet, please ask for pet guidelines.
I have 2 airbnb rooms, that have very similar features and feel. So if this room does not have the availability you are seeking.. check out the other room, The Sweet Spot - https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/6503015. The Boutique Room is a nice size bedroom with private ensuite bathroom in a separate guest wing in back of the house. The most important things for me are: clean and fresh, nice ambiance (decor), firm cozy bed, with quality linens, hot water and good pressure in shower and an area you can make a snack, coffee or tea. The room is equipped with a small fridge, toaster oven, electric kettle and coffee maker some basics (condiments, tea, coffee) and utensils. Original art work enhances wall spaces. Air Conditioning for hot summer days. A table with 2 chairs, for hanging out. There are lots of great little extras. I am happy to stock granola, organic yogurt and milk, good coffee, fruit and if you have something you love, just ask! You have a semi-private entrance, so if you are out and about late, no worries. There is a true feeling of privacy in the back of the house. Green fenced in backyard with table and chairs to relax - smokers welcome outside. Your safety is important to me - Locks on guest doors, fire extinguishers, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, safety card, motion sensor lights by entrances, and off street parking etc.. My driveway can accommodate 2 medium size SUV. If you have a very large SUV or truck you may have to park on street where there is typically ample parking. Only 3 blocks to town where you can enjoy many restaurants, breweries, galleries, shops , Asheville Yoga Studio (about 7 blocks) and more. Best of both worlds: close to the downtown, but quiet space when you are ready to relax. Dogs are welcome, but please check in with me BEFORE you book, so that I can send the pet rules to be sure you can abide by them. Fenced in yard for romping. We love animals. There is a $10 Pet fee per visit. I have tried to think of all the necessities, lots of conveniences, and many luxurious extras. I want you to feel at home and pampered. If there is something I missed, I am open to suggestions and requests. Most of the beautiful photos were taken by an Airbnb photographer with a wide angle lens that does distort the room size a bit.
This home is in the charming, historic Montford which has beautiful Victorian homes, tree-lined streets, and fabulous gardens. It is just three blocks to town, where there are cafes, music, and shopping.
  • Ms. Lizzy offers something from everybody and their pet companions. Ms. Lizzy makes it possible for a independent check-in and her location is literal walking distance from downtown Asheville which was a pleasant surprise for my Girlfriend and I. A lovely lady she is with such a lovely spirit and neighborhood.

  • If you are in Asheville, you should definitely stay with Lizzy. Her home is located in a beautiful neighborhood in walking distance from attractions downtown (and a quick drive from others). The room we stayed in was absolutely beautiful and super comfortable. Lizzy provided us with coffee, granola, fruit, and yogurt in the room which was really nice. There was a private bathroom in our room, which was also beautifully done. We would definitely stay here again!

A beautiful one-hundred year old Richard Sharp Smith historic home in Montford neighborhood. 3 blocks from the center of town, 5-15 minute walk to everything. Hot tub, high speed wi-fi and cable tv, outdoor spaces for relaxation, gourmet kitchen.
You will be staying in the "Blue Room". This is downstairs next to the "Green Room". Those two rooms share the Mauve bathroom. This home is a quick 5 minute walk from the center of downtown. This historic neighborhood is peaceful, yet only a short walk to all the fun activities downtown. Fantastic restaurants nearby, the Pritchard Park drum circle, the US Cellular Center, and St. Lawrence Basilica are only three blocks away. We are a 5 minute drive from UNCA.. You won't need to move your car once you are settled in, unless you decide to go to the Biltmore Estate and Biltmore Village, 10 minutes away. Easy access to the Blue Ridge parkway, NC Arboretum, Folk Art Center and much more!
I love the beautiful old historic homes in this Montford neighborhood. My house dates from circa 1910, termed a "Victorian cottage", and built by Richard Sharp Smith. Many of the homes in the neighborhood date from the 1880's. This Victorian neighborhood was the first suburb of Asheville. It is very quiet and friendly. Lots of beautiful walking opportunities around the neighborhood.
  • Beautiful home within walking distance of downtown Asheville. Super friendly hosts :) Very comfortable room and amenities. The hot tub was a nice treat after walking all day. Would stay here again!

  • Rita and Jeff were amazing! Not only did they have great suggestions for dinner but also invited me out for drinks with them as well. The home was beautiful although i do wish the weather had been better so that I could have enjoyed the outdoor areas of the home as well. I will definitly stay here again. Thanks so much!!

    Nicole2017-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a nice, historic and older home. It is not a brand new posh modern hotel or home. It is nice and comfortable and historic feeling.

    Paul2018-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I were in Asheville for a quick overnight visit. We really enjoyed being able to walk downtown and not have to worry about expensive parking garages. The bed was super comfortable and we had everything we needed. The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming and even had muffins and coffee for us in the morning. The hot tub was a nice feature as well! We'll definitely be back.

    Lauren2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • I couldn't have been happier with my choice to stay with Rita in her charming Victorian cottage. I was there only one night but immediately felt welcomed and at home as a solo traveler. I was in the blue room, sharing a bathroom a short way down the hall with just one other room, which was not at all a problem. The house and furnishings are beautiful, and the location in a quiet neighborhood is an easy walk to downtown. Wonderful, accommodating hosts. Highly recommended!

    Victoria2018-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • The location and the house were perfect. Rita was super welcoming and made our stay really enjoyable. This was far from my first trip to Asheville and Rita recommended places I’d never been or heard of...real local knowledge. We will definitely stay here again!

    Matthew2018-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Rita’s place was great! The location was within walking distance of downtown, the room was spacious, and the bed was comfortable. The coffee and pastries in the morning was also a great touch.

If history repeats itself, then may it always be a replay of Asheville’s Gilded Age. If walls could talk, then a centenarian newsroom would have some spectacular stories to tell. And if location is everything, then The Asheville Times Building @ 120 College Street is the epicenter of all things Asheville. Welcome to the intersection of past & present, to stories of the Gilded Age, and to the ideal home base for Asheville vacations. Welcome to The Daily Condo 201 @ the Asheville Times Building.
Historic Building, Iconic Views! Heart of Downtown w/ Private Outdoor Space Once home to the Asheville Times, the local afternoon newspaper and now the city’s most antique-chic address, this is IT: a 1-bedroom, 1-bath, 500 square-foot condo that breathes Asheville history, embodies the Gilded Age spirit, and incorporates all the modern amenities of the 21st century. HIGHLIGHTS (many more details, below) ------------------ •• Stay in the Shadow of the Gilded Age •• → Asheville, built post-Industrial boom and riding so high it was almost Depression-proof, is unique among Southern cities. So, why would you stay anywhere but in the historic center? Located in the Asheville Times Building @ 120 College Street, The Daily Condo 201 represents the heart of iconic Asheville: in the shadow the Jackson Building (check out that view!), at the start of the Urban Trail arts & history tour, and with easy access to the city’s exceptional dining, nightlife, and culture. Walk Score: 86 – “Very Walkable”! •• Historic yet Contemporary Design•• → From soaring ceilings to original hardwoods, from antique doorknobs to one-of-a-kind artwork, from leather seating to century-old balustrades, the Asheville Times Building preserves the old while incorporating all the must-have new. •• Private Outdoor space •• → Outdoor space may be hard to come by in downtown, but not at The Daily @ 120 College Street! Step out onto your own 160 square-foot, private brick-walled terrace: enjoy a meal (or just a drink) at the bistro table (seats 2), check out the western views over N. Market, and drink in that sunset. •• Walk in the Footsteps of ASHEVILLE’S EARLIEST NEWS REPORTERS •• → There’s nothing more Asheville than living, breathing history. The paper – which changed ownership and names from The Asheville Daily Gazette, to The Gazette-News, to The Times, to The Asheville Times – witnessed the Golden Age of William Sydney Porter (pen name: O. Henry), Thomas Wolfe, and F. Scott Fitzgerald, among other Asheville art royalty. It’s probably not like anything you have at home, but it is exactly the historic-yet-contemporary feel you seek in Asheville. It is historic. It is completely renovated. It is period-perfect. It is home. Or, a home-away-from-home, at least. Each of the three properties, The Gazette Condo 200, The Daily Condo 201 and The News Condo 202 the Asheville Times Building at 120 College Street rises to 10-foot ceilings and blends select antiques with new pieces, modern furnishings with neutral tones, sleek lines with strategic pops of ebullient color. Architectural walls dull sound, the kitchen is fully stocked, the closets are custom, and the bathrooms are completely renovated. You’ll sleep like a baby, thanks to custom drapes and blackout shades. This is where modern meets old world, and it couldn’t be any more Asheville. It’s the perfect complement to your historic downtown experience, complete with a 160 square-foot outdoor terrace and bistro table seating for two. ---------------------------------- ☀☀☀ A Piece of History ☀☀☀ There’s nothing quite so Ashville as staying in a living piece of history. Specifically, a living piece of history where local news writers and makers once plied their craft! We’ll tell you a little story. The 1880-1930 era was a pivotal time in Asheville’s history: This was the Gilded Age, a post-industrial and pre-Depression age that welcomed the railroad, grandiose living, urban development, and the creative minds of O. Henry, Thomas Wolfe, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and others. Asheville rode so high it almost side-stepped the Great Depression. The Asheville Times Building @ 120 College Street was originally built in 1914 for the Asheville Gazette-News; (later, the Asheville Times), occupied 120 College Street until the 1930’s. Fun fact: In 1929, Thomas Wolfe would forever immortalize this time in his highly autobiographical first novel “Look Homeward, Angel,” a coming-of-age story that mirrored his life in Asheville and experiences at his mother’s famous boardinghouse, Dixieland, "the most famous boardinghouse in American fiction.” Just two blocks north on Market Street is the restored Thomas Wolfe Memorial State Historic Site and welcomes visitors Tuesday-Saturday. ----------------------------------
☀☀☀ Welcome ☀☀☀ Welcome to the Asheville Times Building @ 120 College Street, the historic and cultural center of downtown Asheville and former home to The Asheville Times. Welcome to a historic building that still unfolds over original hardwood floors, five-panel doors, antique doorknobs, banisters, and railings. Welcome to a home-away-from home located above the Black Mountain College Museum and Art Center and with its own private terrace. A downtown condo, just footsteps to fine restaurants and trendy nightlife, art galleries and antique shops. Yes, it’s safe to say – this is it. You’ve found it. Over 500 square-feet of historic space, The Daily Condo 201 offers a blend of antique and contemporary furnishings, neutral tones and bright pops of green and yellow, solid woods and airy windows, architectural touches and high design. This is everything you never knew you needed in your downtown Asheville experience. And indeed, downtown Asheville is here, RIGHT here. Walk out your door and you’re on College Street, the historic center of Asheville and jumping-off point for art walks and ghost tours, microbrew flights and year-round festivals, fine dining and museum-hopping. You’re in the middle of it all and exactly where you want to be. ☀☀☀ LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! ☀☀☀ Walk into the shadow of history (and of the iconic Jackson Building), and you immediately feel the pull: 120 College Street is a place where old meets new, where history blends seamlessly with today – where a contemporary patina adds depth to the monuments, parks, and stories that have resided here for more than a century. Indeed, this is a kind of wanderlust (and wonder-lust) completely and uniquely ours. Welcome to Asheville! Here, in remarkable downtown, College Street is one of the most historic-yet-hip addresses in the city – a promenade that straddles the ephemeral boundaries between old-world charm and modern style. And 120 College Street is at the center of it all: above the Black Mountain College Museum and overlooking the Jackson Building, across from Roger McGuire Green in front of City Hall and the County Building, and Pack Square Park with a large open green space on a slope leading to the main stage, three water features including a splash fountain and original art by regional artists. There are many seating areas surrounded by native trees and shrubs. This beautiful 6.5-acre public space is an extra amenity for visitors to relax and linger. This is Asheville history, respectfully updated for the 21st century. So, while Real Life may be about compromise – sacrifice This to get That – we believe that vacation should be a special time. This is when you get both This and That, no compromise required. The Asheville Times Building @ 120 College Street is your no-compromise-required destination: at the intersection of past and present, in the shadow of the Jackson Building and overlooking Pack Square Park, and enveloped by the energy and charm of downtown life. The Daily Condo 201 embodies and embraces the Asheville scene – a scene that draws designers and artists, creatives and music lovers, foodies and artisanal beverage aficionados alike. Here’s what awaits: Dining: Asheville is a food-and-drink dream – there’s a reason Livability.com named us a Top 10 Foodie City! – and from 120 College Street, you’re just minutes to much of your must-eat list, including French Broad Chocolate Lounge, Curate, Sovereign Remedies, Twisted Laurel, Over Easy Cafe, City Bakery, Bouchon, Mela, and Rhubarb. Culture: There’s nothing quite like Asheville culture to put some pep in your step and some erudition in your life. Be sure to schedule stops at the Black Mountain College Museum (your downstairs neighbor!) and the Asheville Art Museum. Finally, don’t forget to checkout a show at The Orange Peel or The Grey Eagle! History: From the 120 College Street, you’re just minutes to many of Asheville’s historic landmarks, including the Vance Memorial, Monument Corner, the Thomas Wolfe Memorial, and Asheville’s historic Flatiron Building, not to mention numerous statues, plaques, and monuments that commemorate the city’s past. Urban Trail Art & History Tour: Art and history lovers, walk into history on Asheville’s Urban Trail, a 1.7-mile walking tour home to 30+ stops at creative landmarks, public sculptures, dioramas, and more. It begins at Pack Place, almost at your front door! The renowned Blue Spiral 1 Gallery and Momentum Gallery are a couple of blocks away and the Black Mountain College Museum + Art Center is right downstairs. Festivals: From Downtown After Five (once a month, in summer) and the Lexington Avenue Arts Fest, to Drum Circle and Art in the Park, downtown Asheville and the River Arts District are ripe with arts, culture, and creative pursuits. ----------------------------------
  • Very nice, clean and convenient condo downtown. Nearby restaurants/tavern and dueling pianos were less than a block away. It took less than 10 mins to walk to the “main area” of shops and restaurants/bars. We would definitely stay here again.

    Brad2019-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Karen's place is very stylish, comfortable and clean, situated on the ever popular College street close to everything. The apartment is in short walking distance to most of Asheville's best restaurants, shops and activities. However, the apartment is also located next door to a nightclub/parking lot/heavily trafficked street, which causes significant noise issues in the evening hours. Karen does her best to address this issue by providing ear plugs for guests.

    Alli2019-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Apartment was comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. Loved the outdoor seating area. Best of all, it was within easy walking distance of all downtown restaurants and shopping. Location was unbeatable!

  • We had a lovely stay here! All the amenities are top notch, every drawer is labeled so you won’t have any questions on where to find things, the shower is heavenly, and the location is truly right within downtown! Would highly recommend!

    Allison2019-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • This place is perfect. It is so stylish and clean. I found it to be very convenient and the keypad makes it easy to get in and out without looking for your key. The bed was super comfortable and it was nice to have a little outdoor patio. We will definitely go back!

    Amy2019-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about this place was perfect! Location, price, amenities, and much much more!

  • A rustic charm in a great location. Most everything in walking distance. Felt more like a part of Asheville than some generic lodgings

  • Nice place and location!

    Rita2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location and a great value. We really enjoyed our stay here and it exceeded our expectations. The bedrooms, bathrooms, and common areas were all very clean and comfortable. The location can't be beat and you can walk very easily to anything in the downtown Asheville area. It's also very easy to get back on the highway if you're going to be driving somewhere outside of downtown. The host was super friendly, quick to respond, and gave several local recommendations. The only downside is not having on-site parking (we were able to find street parking for cheap) and shared bathrooms (we never had to wait for a restroom shower). The location and value of this room make it an easy choice to stay here and far outweigh any negatives. We will definitely be back again.

    Kevin2019-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was our 2nd stay at the Gray Rock Inn. We love it here! Super clean and comfortable. Close to everything. Peggy and Martin are super friendly with great recommendations. Love this place! We'll be back again soon.

  • This was my first experience using AirBnB and I am thrilled with my stay. It’s the perfect location with an easy walk to downtown. The bungalow was very comfy & homey, but also private. Would definitely stay here again if I ever make it back to Asheville.

    Mackenzie2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Modern, very clean and excellent location for walking access to downtown Asheville. Defineltly recommend this place.

    John2018-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • We were pleased to find comfortable and clean accomodation which matched the description that Showee and Don provide on the website. Initially we backed our car off the street right up the narrow driveway to the door making it very convenient for unloading luggage. The small cottage/bungalow is also close to downtown Asheville and restaurants and indeed we walked over for a convenient breakfast at a nearby bakery and then just continued walking all over downtown Asheville. Once again we had no surprises on our stay here and I'd certainly come back here although for a larger vehicle it's perhaps easier to park at the bottom of the driveway.

  • The cottage and neighborhood were lovely. Kelly stocked the place with snacks, which was a nice touch, and the decor was adorable. Everything was spotless. I loved that it was an easy, quick walk to downtown Asheville.

    Lizette2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Our family had a great stay at Kelly's place. The location was perfect, we walked into town several times with our young girls. They thought it was fun to be able to walk everywhere! The place was clean and nicely decorated, very cozy. We felt right at home! Kelly was available for questions and offered suggestions on things to do in the area. We look forward to another visit!

    Sharon2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • I greatly enjoyed my stay in this artfully decorated basement apartment. The bed was comfy and amenities were great. Kelly and Rick were just the right balance between helpful and respectful of my privacy. I loved being able to walk thru the historic Montfort district to downtown and enjoy all it had to offer without having to find a parking space! I’m definitely coming back with my family next time so that my husband can go on a fly fishing tour with Rick. 10 out of 10 a fabulous find!

    Kathy2019-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • This little gem is perfect walking distance to downtown, and also to a gorgeous cocktail bar (that also serves food) just blocks away. The kitchenette (no sink, but with a water dispenser and a little fridge) is perfect for basic breakfast and snacks, and there's a lovely sitting area as well as the bedroom and bath. It's also very close to UNCA, so was perfect for a visit with my daughter there.

    Donna2019-05-08T00:00:00Z

    Susie2017-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Location! My husband and I are into breweries and April's place is within walking distance of 10 plus it's also very close to downtown Asheville. It is also easy to navigate to and not too far from the blue ridge parkway. The only downside is that the floor creaks and it's very loud when the trucks pass by at night. Other than that, April was a great host and even let us leave the car parked a little longer than check out.

    Aliki2017-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • April was a great host and very attentive to us! She was quick in communication and very accommodating. The studio was very clean and a perfect size for two people. My space is unique because it is located in the Lexington Market area which is the Haight Ashbury type of neighborhood of Asheville. Guests can have a luxurious bath or show in the separate shower with 2 shower heads. Sink, plates, refrigerator, microwave and we have just added a picnic backpack with separate plates, utensil, glasses with a hot cold storage compartment for food. It even has a wine bottle cooler. For those beautiful days you just don't want to wait inside to eat, it will help you to utilize the local deli's and grocery stores. In unit laundry in case your travels become interesting and a Roku tv w/blue tooth stereo for in unit entertainment. The unit also has a dedicated parking space #B25, which is priceless downtown.
Right downtown. Half a block from 2 of the 3 vinyl record stores in Asheville. 1 block from Harris Teeter and Trader Joe's. 3 blocks from South Slope. Walking distance to breweries and eclectic (Non-corporate) local shopping, restaurants and local live music venues. ! block from Asheville Music Hall, Asheville one stop, 5 Walnut, Mtn. • This clean, cozy gem is perfectly situated to explore downtown Asheville. Just a short walking distance to all of the great restaurants, shops, bars, and happening spots, we loved the freedom of parking the car in the free designated spot and leaving it there. The Lexington Market neighborhood is a vibrant, diverse, and easy going community, a great place to sample the best of what Asheville has to offer. It quickly became our favorite part of town. The bed was super comfy and all of the amenities top notch. John is hands down the most helpful host if you have any questions about his town. He has a deep understanding of the unique culture and history of Asheville and is ready and willing to offer tips and suggestions on everything from restaurants and shops to bookstores and places to jog or workout. He is generous with his time and always quick with his responses. Highly recommended!

  • I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. It felt like my home away from home. The decor is appealling and perfect for this studio. The bed was comfy with sheets and a comforter that felt really good. So much cozier than a sterile hotel room. The building is an older one and has a lot of character. The location is superb. I will stay here on every trip to Asheville if possible.

  • This was a great place if you are planning on being out all day. It’s perfectly in the heart of downtown!

  • This condo is all about the location! You can walk anywhere downtown and drive really quickly to anywhere in West Asheville. Parking is easy and free! Place was clean!

  • Great place for people looking to check out all Asheville’s breweries and restaurants. It has everything you need and is in a good location to walk everywhere.

    Tommy2019-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place was AWFUL. There’s no air conditioning, the paint was peeling off the ceiling in massive flakes, the window does not lock and the place had a terrible damp smell (so bad we had to wash EVERYTHING we had). It stated having a full kitchen, but it doesn’t even have a microwave. The place is SO LOUD, every time someone enters the building you hear it and you can hear EVERY WORD of what the neighbors tv said. The entire place looks like it was renovated by a CHILD. In total this place cost $160 for one night, and absolute RIP OFF! Pay $10 and you can stay at the Aloft hotel that is smack downtown, not down some sketchy dirty street.

    Will2019-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment was in the perfect location! So easy to walk to all the restaurants and breweries! I didn’t anticipate being able to come and go so easily but because it was so close- we did! It was perfect for a long weekend away. There was also a window ac unit that wasn’t mentioned in the listing so that was also fantastic!

This comfy hideaway is a very unique space. I like to consider it an art lovers creative space. Tucked in the middle of downtown Asheville, this unit provides maximum comfort, front and back yards for your fur babies, a short walk to all things downtown AVL, a short drive to all the best hiking, and a community of wonderful souls that are always happy to point you in the right direction. You will love staying here!
The neighborhood is great! It is diverse, and full of Asheville flare! We love where we live, and are certain that you will as well!!!!
  • Excellent location!

    Katherine2017-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • The place was beautiful and clean and the location could not have been better. The apartment was private and parking was never an issue. We had a lovely time and would stay here again!

  • Great location and stylish living space. Walking distance to all the best breweries and restaurants in Asheville. Only negative would be that you can faintly hear the club next door - but didn't really disturb my sleep at all. 100% recommend this spot.

    Jamie2019-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and cool place but failed to mention its next door to a night club that is blasting until 3 AM

    Galen2019-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The unit we were provided was NOT the same unit that we paid for in the listing. There was no TV because someone stole the blue ray player, there was no microwave to heat up any of our food. But the worst part was the nauseating smell. There was an overwhelming odor in the unit that smelled like cigarettes. It was so bad that I wasn't able to sleep either night and then we had to cut our trip short and leave a day early because the smell made me sick to my stomach. I'm so disappointed in this experience, from the bait and switch (false advertising) To the horrible odor that forced us to leave from getting sick. We don't have many opportunities to escape for the weekend away from our kids and this weekend was ruined because of the lack of accommodations. To top it off the owners never followed up with our issues like they said they would.

    Lesley2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Basement apartment near downtown. Good for a stay over night. Shower has very little pressure and flow.

    Marcela2018-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • If you are all about location, this is the space for you! The rental is located within walking distance to everything downtown. We even walked to the River Arts District and New Belgium Brewery from the rental. I thought the space was more of a studio when I did the reservation and was pleasantly surprised to find that it was three rooms (kitchen, sitting/bedroom, and bathroom) and roomy. It had all the necessities for either a short or longer term stay. (We we’re there for a week.) It is dog friendly and in an area great for dog walking and overall dog friendly. Another bonus was that it included a parking space.

Please read *expectations in “the space.” The heart of downtown is just a short 15 min walk away & Orange Peel is a 13 min walk away. We have a sometimes loud toddler in the house & we share one bathroom. Once booked, please be sure to read the House Manual. On Tues, a sitter will be watching our boy in the common space & our bedroom. Also before booking please upload a gvmt id to your profile. We require all of our guests to have a verified gvmt issued ID and host recommendation Thank you!
*expectations: Scammers: If I have any suspicion that something is in your inquiry is off I will immediately report your account. We find that a handful of past guests who have not read the information on the host pages entirely, both before and after booking, tend to be the rare individuals to leave less than glowing reviews as a result of misplaced expectations. So as to make your experience the best possible, we recommend reading the provided information in its entirety to see if our space is a good fit for your expectations. Booking We offer one night stays during the week, but two nights minimum on the weekends. Homestay This homestay is our primary residence which means your room is private and the common areas & washroom are shared. And that we have a toddler who talks loud. So if you plan on sleeping in late we have provided ear plugs in one of the dresser drawers. There is one bedroom available for your stay. It has been our nursery in the past and now has a queen bed and a sunset view toward downtown and the mountains. There is one shared jack and jill bathroom off of the living room. The living room has a couch and a hammock. Travel time The heart of downtown is just a short 15 minute walk away and the Orange Peel venue is only a 13 minute walk away. Once booked, please be sure to read the House Manual in the app. House manual likes being read. :) We love our condo in Downtown Asheville. From our condo, it's an easy stroll to downtown to get a cup of coffee, enjoy dinner or drinks, stroll through an art gallery, or catch a baseball game. We are far enough out, though, that we still get a restful night's sleep. You will also have access to the kitchen, living room, bathroom, wifi, and parking. Our home is pet-free. Pets are not allowed due to slight allergy. The Biltmore Estate is about a 10 minute drive. The Grove Park Inn is about a 6 minute drive. A plethora of restaurants are in 12 minute walking distance or a 5 minute drive. The River Arts district is about an 8 minute drive away as well. One of the access roads to the Blue Ridge Parkway is 1/2 mile away. Our building was built in 2008 and has a modern style. There is a bus stop down the hill, though you would not need it to access downtown areas. We are also within 1 mile of a traditional grocery store and a co-op. Asheville is very cyclist friendly, so let us know if you have cycling questions. We love showing off our city, so if you are up for suggestions on favorite restaurants or places not to miss (French Broad Chocolate Lounge!) then we would be glad to advise. Some of these tips are in our guidebook and a picture of food suggestions in the pics. We also love the outdoors and can give you tips on great hikes. We have an iron and ironing board. The washer and dryer is limited for use during your stay upon request. Once you are booked, please be sure to read the House Manual in the app, it will answer most if not all your questions as we are typically not available on site for check in. We have a toddler, so there are some toys around the house. Our home is somewhat "baby-proofed" but if you are traveling with a little one you are still responsible for your child's safety. Parking at our condo is free. If you're driving downtown, rather than walking, event parking can range from $5 to $10. Mon - Saturday street parking meters don't charge after 6pm. You'll likely spend about a dollar an hour at most parking decks and metered parking. Take plenty of quarters for metered or you can use the passport parking app. Uber ride is about $5 We are a legally recognized Homestay permitted by the city of Asheville. The definition of a Homestay means this is our primary residence. Short term vacation rentals (29 days or less) are restricted in Asheville city, but we do have permission to operate for short term rentals as a licensed homestay. Check photos for permit. (The photo is cropped to protect our address and other information.)
Our neighborhood is convenient to downtown though not amidst the traffic and noise.
  • De communicatie met de verhuurder was erg goed. De informatie over het appartement was prima. De locatie was goed, de omgeving ook prima.

  • Our hosts both made us feel very, very welcome. Super clean, everything needed was easy to access and use -- and when it comes to WiFi and coffee, that's more than appreciated. Very easy walking access to downtown. Clean, calm room. I could have (??? should have) slept in the hammock. This was a cross-country trip with my recently graduated daughter ... first music stop. So fun.

  • Everything was as expected!!! Easy to find a parking lot, walking distance to Downtown, clean bedroom & bathroom! It was easy to enter the apartment. We had a nice chat with Michael & Rebecca...they are well traveled people and can share great stories. We only stayed for one night, but would come back anytime!

    Katharina2013-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Rebecca was friendly and courteous. I enjoyed my stay.

    Will2015-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • We didn't actually meet Rebecca or her husband while we stayed at their apartment, but she was easy to get in touch with prior to arriving. We had no trouble getting into the house. There were fresh towels, a mini fridge, iron and access to coffee...so lots of little extra things that made the stay nice. The apartment itself is about a 15 minute walk to some of the great Ashville breweries and the downtown area. We walked to the breweries and dinner, but then took an Uber back that evening which cost about $9. All in all, a great place to stay if you are looking to enjoy Downtown Asheville. Would recommend them and stay again.

  • Great location and super nice hosts. Really delightful to talk to and had tons of great recommendations for things to do in the neighborhood and around town.

    Jamie2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Rebecca and Michael's home was very cute, cozy, clean, and super close to downtown. They included a helpful list of local breweries in the room, that we ended up using. Very quick communication, and everything was above and beyond expectations! I would definitely recommend their place :)

This cozy, downtown hideout is the perfect place to escape reality and take in everything Asheville has to offer. Steps from all of the breweries, bars, restaurant's, shops, etc. You can find outdoor adventures galore in a short drive, or take a $5 uber to historic west asheville. Our eclectic neighborhood will make you fall in live with Asheville at first site. We look forward to hosting you!
  • In a great area, walkable to everything you would want to do in town. The place is perfect for a weekend stay, has everything you would need and no more. Jonathan was super nice and helpful.

  • Loved that we could bring our dog, could walk everywhere downtown, and had parking. The layout of the unit is a bit quirky. I’d describe as a junior 1 bedroom. There was a kitchen area with a table and 2 stools and then a bedroom with no door. The shower and toilet/sink were in separate rooms. This wasn’t a problem but might be helpful to know. Host was super responsive via phone and this seemed to be best way to get in touch with him.

  • This location is so convenient to all of downtown Asheville - and the host was friendly and accommodating - he gave us great recommendations and made sure we got settled in quickly. Also - this is truly a pet friendly place and our dog was right at home with all the other visiting dogs. We were so grateful to find this when we needed to evacuate - and will certainly stay again when we visit Asheville in the future.

This adorable throwback flat is located IN downtown. Private parking, walk everywhere. Epicenter of the south slope, you can walk to all the breweries within 5 minutes, anywhere downtown within 10 minutes. Second floor, 440 SQ FT apartment in historic house. 1 bedroom, living room with IKEA sectional/sofa bed, roku TV, equipped kitchen and bathroom with claw foot tub/ shower surround. In the same building as Studio C and Heart of Downtown listing, see reviews
Great downtown location and tons of charm. Things to note: If you are traveling with 4 people, there is space to accommodate but it will be tight in the living and sleeping area, hopefully you all like each other! TV has Roku with Sling and Netflix, etc...but not local channels for some sports and such, of course tons of breweries to walk to with games showing. No pets and no smoking on premises.
First mixed residential and office street in downtown, so a bit quieter but still lots of fun activity within seconds of the apartment.
  • April's "B" Flat is a great place to stay while in Asheville. It's cozy and cute, with lots of bright colors. The place is clean and close walking distance to many of the breweries and restaurants. Check-in was really easy, and April and her husband were very responsive. I highly recommend this place!

  • Loved staying here! What a perfect place to stay to be walking distance away from all of downtown. We came into Asheville to experience all the breweries and food and this was definitely the place to be. We didn't meet April but her communication was always on point and they leave a folder filled with information for ANY questions you may have. So helpful!

This one bedroom, one bath studio is located in the back of my beautifully restored 1920s bungalow in downtown Asheville.
The studio apartment, located in the back part of my house, is decorated with a mix of modern and vintage furniture. Some have been in my life for a long time, some brand new to the space, and art made by me hangs on the walls. There's a small kitchenette with table and chairs, a bedroom with exposed brick from an old cooks stove and a living area with a futon-style couch. The full bath has a claw foot tub/shower that has a custom copper curtain rod and antique heirloom vanity. This is a perfect retreat for two people.
The beauty of the house not only lies in all of its charm, but also in it's location! There's a unique Whole Foods, called Greenlife, right across the street and Trader Joes is a couple blocks up from that. If you fancy yoga, Asheville Yoga Center is about three blocks away, on Liberty Street. In the other direction, a lovely greenway runs along Reeds Creek, or you can simply stroll around the eclectic neighborhood. Historic Montford, one the oldest neighborhoods (and in my humble opinion, the most beautiful), is a block away and the architecture is truly inspiring. My favorite coffee shop sits at the bottom of the street, called High Five Cafe. Don't let the hip tattooed baristas intimidate you- the coffee is delicious! Most importantly, all of downtown is just a 5-10 minute walk, complete with shopping, museums, restaurants, breweries, bars and music venues.
  • Christal is an awesome host! We had everything we needed and then some! The studio is clean and smells amazing due to the dried plants and herbs. Very natural feeling. We had a great time on our honeymoon and can't wait to stay again!!

    Patricia2017-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • This cozy studio, located within walking distance of many of Asheville's great restaurants and shops, was a wonderful place to spend the weekend. We'd love to come back!

    Sara2016-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Christal’s place was so cute! And she was a great host, very easy to communicate with. We were only there for one night but it was a night well spent!

    Stephanie2018-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely spot, walkable to downtown. The space was well decorated, with thoughtful, and aesthetically pleasing details that made it sweet and homey.

    Alexandra (Sasha)2017-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • Christal's home was lovely. The location was on a quiet street but still a quick 10 minute walk to downtown Asheville. For locations outside of downtown that weren't walkable (like the River Arts district or certain breweries), it was easy to drive or get an inexpensive Lyft ride there instead. The space is a great size for a couple though the kitchen is small. We spent our time enjoying Asheville's delicious restaurants so that was not a problem for us. Thanks Christal!

    Emily2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Christal's place is extremely cozy with a comfy bohemian feel to it. While just a short walk from downtown, the place was delightfully quiet - we were especially enjoyed sitting on the back porch at night. We couldn't have asked for a better location for visiting Asheville. Christal was very responsive and communicative throughout our booking and stay, and made everything very easy for us. Definitely recommended.

    Kyle2017-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • Christal's place was great! Whoever decorated needs an award. It was SUPER clean, quaint, easy check-in / out, great location, and overall a seamless stay. I recommend it. The only thing we thought was different from other Airbnbs we’ve stayed at was her house instructions. The first rule in her house, "do not take anything from the apartment. That is stealing". Yes, of course that is. We would never take anything but I guess others have. The next few instructions were to “wash the dishes”, and “take off the lines”. Okay, that's fine, we can do that but there wasn't a "please" or “if you don't mind". We don’t need to be coddled but it felt unwelcoming. There’s also a cleaning fee that all guests pay, which begs the question on why I was hand washing dishes before we left. When you do the volume of stays that Christal does I can easily see how things need to be standardized, efficient, and equitable, but at the end of the day we were paying over $150 to be there and it felt a bit like we were a hassle to her. As with all feedback (especially the kind you find on the internet), take it with a grain of salt.

This is it - a rare downtown Asheville condo with a dedicated parking spot! (No more driving around in circles, paying exorbitant parking rates or feeding parking meters!). Since we are located downtown, that means you can easily walk to all your favorite AVL restaurants, shops and breweries. Our condo gives you quick and easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Biltmore Estate, and other nearby Asheville attractions.
Featuring bamboo floors, granite countertops, natural light, fully furnished modern decor, a full kitchen (complete with coffee maker, blender and toaster oven), new bedroom and bathroom linens, TWO brand new flat-screen TVs, a DVD player, and an in-unit washer/dryer, experience your private living space near the Western Carolina mountains. The futon converts into a full-sized bed for additional guests. Relax, and enjoy yourself in your own little sanctuary with all the comforts of home. We hope you enjoy your stay with us and enjoy Asheville!
We are steps away from the Civic Center and right off of I-240. We're located at the outer edge of downtown Asheville - close enough to be in the heart of it all, but far enough from the hustle and bustle of the city.

It’s the perfect complement to your historic downtown experience, complete with historic views over iconic downtown sights. Asheville Times Building @ 120 College Street was originally built in 1914 for the Asheville Gazette (later, the Asheville Times), occupied 120 College Street until the 1930’s ————————————————— Fun fact: In 1929, Thomas Wolfe would forever immortalize this time in his highly autobiographical first novel “Look Homeward, Angel,” a coming-of-age story that mirrored his life in Asheville and experiences at his mother’s famous boardinghouse, Dixieland, "the most famous boardinghouse in American fiction.” Just two blocks north on Market Street is the restored Thomas Wolfe Memorial State Historic Site and welcomes visitors Tuesday-Saturday.
☀☀☀ Welcome ☀☀☀ Welcome to the Asheville Times Building @ 120 College Street, the historic and cultural center of downtown Asheville and former home to the city’s first newspaper. Welcome to a historic building that still unfolds over original hardwood floors, five-panel doors, antique doorknobs, banisters, and railings. Welcome to a home-away-from home above a museum and a multi-level amazing view overlooking Pack Square Park. A downtown condo, footsteps to fine restaurants and trendy nightlife, art galleries and antique shops. Yes, it’s safe to say – this is it. You’ve found it. Over 1,400 square-feet of historic space, The Gazette Condo 200 offers a blend of antique and contemporary furnishings, neutral tones and bright pops of color, solid woods and airy windows, architectural touches and high design. ---------------------------------- ☀☀☀ LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! The Gazette Condo 200 in the Asheville Times Building @ 120 College Street is your no-compromise-required destination: at the intersection of past and present, in the shadow of the Jackson Building and Pack Square Park, and enveloped by the energy and charm of downtown life. It embodies and embraces the Asheville scene – a scene that draws designers and artists, creatives and music lovers, foodies and artisanal beverage aficionados alike. History: From 120 College Street, you’re just minutes to many of Asheville’s historic landmarks, including the Vance Memorial, Monument Corner, the Thomas Wolfe Memorial, and Asheville’s historic Flatiron Building, not to mention numerous statues, plaques, and monuments that commemorate the city’s past. The renowned Blue Spiral 1 Gallery and Momentum Gallery are a couple of blocks away and the Black Mountain College Museum is right downstairs. Festivals: From Downtown After Five (once a month, in summer) and the Lexington Avenue Arts Fest, to Drum Circle and Art in the Park, downtown Asheville and the River Arts District are ripe with arts, culture, and creative pursuits.
  • Amazing space in the perfect location! All of the guests wanted to move in!

    Francesca2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for walking to shopping, dining etc. Property was exactly what we wanted and more. Highly recommend

    Tena2019-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible, warm modern condo, right out of a magazine, right in the heart of downtown Asheville! Incredible light filled space, comfortable beds, spa like bathrooms, spacious kitchen for cooking and stocked with everything you need, very clean and new, easy to find, and all of the highlights of downtown are steps away. Parking was easy, but not free-daily lots all around for convenience. A destination AirBnB for us when we return to Asheville!

    Caroline2019-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Accommodation was beautiful. Karen went above and beyond with her guide book to let us know how to plan our trip. Highly recommend , perfect location . Loved the experience!!

    Jane2019-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and such a cool space. Nice use of an old building. Host was so easy to work with.

    Matt2019-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • The location is perfect for experiencing downtown but be aware it is not quite either during the day if there is something in the park or in the evening because of the street activity. And there are a lot of stairs. To get to the unit and then to the bedrooms. Just be aware.

    Amie2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Karen's place is exceptionally well-appointed; we had absolutely everything we needed to make our "home base" from which to explore Asheville. The beds are super comfortable, and the kitchen is well stocked. There is no better location either: it's an easy walk to the best shops, restaurants, and other notable places of interest. This may just be my favorite Airbnb rental ever!

Nicely decorated, warm bedroom and full bath with its own private entrance within a newly constructed Craftsman home. Great place for couples who value privacy and walking proximity to downtown Asheville and the "South Slope" district. We are inspected and "Permitted" by the City of Asheville. Our home won "Gold Craftsman" award by Asheville's 2018 Parade of Homes, thanks to our builder and Dennis' cabinetry/ woodworking details!
Access your "Homestay" at grade level down the driveway at the back of the main house through your own private, nicely landscaped, patio with two chairs and a table for relaxing with your morning coffee. The entrance is at back of house, a few steps from the driveway if you prefer to drive down (not over detached garage - that's Dennis' woodworking studio). The bedroom has a spacious feel with 10' ceilings and 2 large windows. It has a queen size bed, a small fridge (no ice maker), a Keurig with supplies and other small amenities. There is also a toaster under the sink in the bathroom. City regulations prohibit homestays from having kitchens. There is a bluetooth speaker if you want to link to your Pandora or Spotify. There is no tv but there is WiFi if you’d like to bring your own device. There are also some magazines and books in the room. The private bath has a large tiled, walk-in shower with shampoo, conditioner, body wash and a hairdryer. There is a door to the laundry room (and the rest of the house) that can be locked from guest side. We respect your space and will not enter your room unless there is an emergency and we have your permission. Our bedroom is 2 floors above the Airbnb with a main living area in between. FYI, Asheville City regulations require hosts to be present in the residence overnight whenever there are Homestay guests.
    Neighborhood is quiet residential.
  • Laura and Denis were wonderful hosts- inviting, friendly, and accommodating. Everything was as advertised and enhanced our trip to Asheville. They helped us with recommendations and directions, and the room was clean, thoughtfully prepared, and comfortable. We ended up adding an unexpected visit to the hospital to our vacation, and they went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. You can’t beat these hosts, and it is also an amazing location for visiting Asheville. Highly recommended for the couples or the responsible adventurer.

    Carson2018-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Laura’s Place was amazing! The house is beautiful and conveniently located to all the downtown attractions! Laura and Dennis were both so friendly and helpful! We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!

    Kayla2018-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had the best stay at Laura’s space, it was a wonderful experience. The space is very clean, coffee and mini fridge in the room and even a few sweet treats :). The space has a private entry, tall ceilings, and nice blinds to block out the light for a good nights sleep! Laura was a 5 Star host and really exceeded expectations as a host, her communication was prompt and thoughtful. She even gave us hand written walking instructions to a music venue she knew we were going to. The location is amazing in Asheville, we walked mostly everywhere in the town to and from the space. Uber is also very accessible and affordable from here. We had a short drive to the blue ridge mountains where we had some short day hikes, walkable to breweries in Asheville. The neighborhood is very quiet for being in such close proximity to city central. We would stay here again in a heart beat!

    Alexandra2018-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Laura and Dennis truly were super hosts. The room was clean, inviting, and full of special touches. The location is perfect, close to downtown , we walked everywhere, can’t wait to go back!!

    Sally2019-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Laura and Dennis have a beautiful home and are incredible hosts. You basically have your own apartment that’s a quick walk to breweries.

    David2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Once again, had the best stay at Laura's Landing. For my second stay, it was a no-brainier. This time it was for a trip to the Orange Peel and knowing how close their location is to the venue, it was a go! I knew we would be in great hands with Laura and Dennis. Can't rave enough about them and their home, I'd recommend anyone to stay. Be sure to interact and say "Hi", you won't have any regrets! Again, the location is walkable to most things downtown, otherwise a short drive. Awesome folks, beautiful room, comfortable bed, great shower, you can't go wrong.

    Monica2018-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Laura's place is outstanding in every way: welcoming, elegant, craftsman details, large walk-in tiled shower, treats, and conveniences including small fridge and Keurig coffee maker. The space is private with private entrance. The location is within walking distance (less than one mile) of downtown and all the superb restaurants and breweries, and, if driving, allows easy access to everything including to the Biltmore Estate. We highly recommend Laura's Landing, and we will definitely return to Laura's Landing as our Asheville go-to! Enjoy!

    Rose2018-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Laura's place was very special and she was an exceptional host. We loved the location and were able to walk easily to downtown restaurants and shopping. Everything was well thought out and we will definitely recommend it to our friends!

We welcome you to Downtown Inn where Asheville is out your front door and the mountains are just minutes away. We are within a short walking distance of many of Asheville's hottest attractions. The Biltmore Estate and Biltmore Village are just a 10 minute drive and access to the Blue Ridge Parkway is just a 15 to 20 minute drive. Whether you are looking for downtown excitement or the peace of the mountains, Downtown Inn is where you want to be in the heart of Asheville!
  • This inn is actually a hotel and we paid more by going through Airbnb than by going directly to the Downtown Inn. Noise was fine except for man in nearby room was angry and yelling in the middle of the night. Basic and clean. Looks scary but is generally decent.

    Rachel2017-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and very great location in downtown Asheville! Very pleased with this stay for the cost.

Historic & charming urban escape in Downtown AVL . Walk to the best Downtown has to offer in 5 minutes. 2 blocks in the other direction takes you to the River Arts District-R.A.D+Great Location & Luxury accommodations! Enjoy!
You are very close to the center of downtown and closer to the budding South slope Brewery and food district as well as the RAD
  • A great older house within walking distance to several breweries and downtown Asheville. Was a great location with easy access to several local spots including Biltmore, WNC Nature Center and the NC Arboretum. The house is larger than the pictures led me to believe. Plenty of room in the main bedroom with a king bed and even more room in the living area and kitchen. Was a great place with our 4 year old as there were toys and games to play with on a rainy day.

    Jared2019-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Danielle has a wonderful home, walking distance to downtown Asheville. It made for a perfect long weekend getaway. Recommend this to others!

    Kate And Matthew2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Danielle’s place was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. We were able to cook nice meals in the large kitchen and relax on the porch. Danielle responded quickly to our messages. The location was great. It’s close to downtown, but far enough away to avoid noise and foot traffic. I definitely recommend it!

    Tracy2019-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is an older house with creaky wooden floors which for us added a quaint and homely environment.

1st floor bedroom with a very comfortable queen bed in a wonderful location, only 1/2 mile walk to downtown Asheville. 1/2 a block from Trader Joe's on Merrimon Ave, Harris Teeter and Greenlife Market (Whole Foods). Private bathroom on same floor. Only 1 step into house, bedroom and bathroom on 1st level. Come enjoy the great food, music and outdoor activities that Asheville is known for. Free street parking beside or in front of front door across the street.
My home is warm and inviting with all you'll need to enjoy yourselves. Large comfy Queen bedded 1st floor bedroom and bath off kitchen for your use. My bedroom and bathroom are upstairs.
There is a great coffee shop on my block and many grocery stores within a block and parking in front of or beside my house. Walking downtown is 1/2 mile past many great shops and restaurants and bars along Lexington Ave. I am also right near the yoga center and the Cellular center for concerts and events is 1/4 mile walk as well. Parking permit required to park. I provide a visitor permit.
  • The keyword is accuracy. Everything advertised about this accommodation is exactly as described. Very close to all the Asheville action but just far enough away to be quite and very comfortable. (It was a five minute walk to the very center of the city)

    Mel2017-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. Walking distance from all the things so you don't have to pay for parking (tip: parking is free after 6?!) and V's house is super clean and comfortable. 10/10 would book again.

    Christina2017-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at V's place. It was a safe and short walk to downtown which was very convenient. The bedroom was comfortable and spacious. We appreciated V's breakfast recommendations as well!

  • Lovely visit. A great host.

    Mario2018-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • V and her house were wonderful! She's thought of everything. I was incredibly comfortable. It was like a home away from home. The wrap around porch was amazing and if you really look out there'll be a thunder storm to watch while you sit on it! But above all else, this is the perfect location to walk to downtown while still maintaining the feel of a small neighborhood.

    Kathryn2016-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location, very centrally located and quick walk to pretty much anywhere near downtown. A market and coffee shop were literally a 2 minute walk away. Room was clean and comfortable, with an amazingly comfortable bed. Hosts were very kind and welcoming. Overall, it was a great experience. We'd definitely consider again when we go back to Asheville.

    Brian2016-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • V was spot on! Her home was perfect. We walked in to town each night. She gave great ideas on places to go. The room/house was so nice. We both enjoyed her porch too. Thanks for a wonderful getaway!

    MaryAnn2016-10-19T00:00:00Z

I don't want to over sell this unit simply because I want it to be available to me when I want =) Mellissa made sure we were taken care of as needed and made our 16 night stay an absolute delight. The unit was perfect for what we needed, on the Lexington Ave block, our dogs loved the open space.

  • This condo was perfect for the downtown Asheville experience that we wanted. We were able to walk to all of the restaurants and shops in town, and enjoyed having the option of being free from our car during our long weekend. Two parking garages are conveniently located across the street, which also gave us the flexibility to go for a hike one afternoon. The condo itself is spacious, clean and modern. We liked having access to the kitchen and laundry as well. Melissa was a gracious host who was willing to work with us on our arrival date following a family emergency. We very much appreciated her understanding. This was our first airbnb experience, and it was a great place to start!

Located at walking distance from Downtown Asheville, just up the hill on a perfect location that will allow you to experience the most spectacular sunsets overlooking parts of the Blue Ridge Mountain & Downtown. Just 8 minutes walking and Downtown Asheville will welcome you to 30 breweries, 137 restaurants, mom & pop shops, art galleries, music venues & much more. As your host I'll provide you with a list of must visit attractions that cover everything from dining to spectacular hiking trails.
The interior space is bright with french doors that open up to a spacious balcony overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains and part of Downtown Asheville. The interior features pop art on the walls, a book shelf with best sellers, board games, a smart tv with access to Netflix, Amazon Prime, and HBO Go and Blue Ray player. The kitchen is delivered fully equipped with utensils so that you can dine-in if you prefer and a coffee maker also so that you can prepare and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning outside on the balcony where you'll enjoy the mountain view and the sound of birds near by. If you are planning to wash clothes there's a washer and dryer inside the unit for your convenience. You'll also find two available closet spaces to accommodate your belongings comfortably in addition to a dresser in the bedroom. Downtown is at walking distance and if you are planning to dine and drink there's really no need for a car. However if you insist in driving to Downtown there are parking garages in Downtown that will not charge for the first hour but will start charging $2.50 per hour after the free hour. There's also free city parking after 6 pm, but if they're full then you can find parking private parking lots that charge about $2.00 per hour.

  • This location and view is perfect! If you're looking to stay close to downtown Asheville, this is the place to be. The balcony is very nice to see a beautiful sunrise/sunset view of the mountains. 5 stars!

  • Chris's place is conveniently located with a short walk to downtown and a few minutes drive to the River Arts District if looking to do some sightseeing. His place is very clean with an open/loft layout. A good place to say if looking for the basics and accommodations for a weekend getaway.

    Michael2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and view from the back porch. Check-in was difficult since we were locked out, and someone had to drive across town to give us the keys. Either way, Ruben was super responsive and helpful!

For budget travelers who want to be downtown! Convenient location. No frills, not a fancy B&B. A place with history, character and real people. Clean, comfortable historic 100+year-old rooming house with front porch, balcony, shared bathrooms. One of several short term rental rooms, this single, second floor room has an air conditioner in the window in summer, mini refrigerator, sink, desk, sitting chair. Near front of building, across from a music venue. Bathrooms are shared with other guests.
This small room is perfect for the solo traveler, with a twin bed, sitting chair, writing desk, refrigerator and shelves. A large window lets in natural light (we have solar panels that do obscure the view, but heat our water). At the Gray Rock Inn, downtown Asheville is right outside your door, and our reasonable rates mean your money can be spent on enjoying the city. Conveniently located on Biltmore Ave. and an easy walk to breweries, music venues, art galleries, boutiques and restaurants. The Gray Rock Inn is a great value, a "no frills" but clean and comfy place to explore the city from. Stay downtown for less - walk the city's streets and enjoy! Asheville is right outside at this historic inn where people of all walks of life feel at home. A place with charm, character and friendly residents and guests alike. Not a fancy B&B or chain hotel. Perfect for those who want to spend their time exploring downtown Asheville and not driving. Walk around downtown and enjoy its bustling and vibrant scene. Or, you can just sit on our front porch or balcony and relax. After taking it all in you can return to a private and secure setting. An historic inn with a background as interesting as Asheville. The Gray Rock Inn is a classic 100+year-old building, housing both short- and long-term residents in an International style, with shared bathrooms. In this space you’ll encounter fellow travelers and local residents alike. What you’ll experience is a small community that shares a love for Asheville. Each room is different, reflecting the unique history and character of The Gray Rock Inn. Standard furnishings in every room include a refrigerator and sink with clean towels and linens. Wifi is included but you won’t find a television in your room. We look forward to hosting you at The Gray Rock Inn, and making your Asheville experience a memorable one. And be sure to kiss the Bunkum Stone while you’re here. We are in strict compliance with fire and safety codes and have carbon monoxide detectors where they are required. Amenities: We provide Wifi, telephone, computer, coin laundry. There is a coffee maker on the second floor bookshelf. Relax on our balcony or porch. Slow down, unwind and enjoy the fresh mountain air and sunshine on our balcony. Or watch the parade of people from our front porch. Our large second floor balcony has commanding views of Biltmore Ave. and the mountains. Our covered front porch faces Biltmore Ave. with its bustling activity. Comfortable and clean bathrooms: Even though our bathrooms are shared, you might never notice. With two on each floor, locking doors and daily cleaning, you’ll be rest assured of privacy and cleanliness. And there’s rarely a wait. Water is solar heated.
The neighborhood is lively and diverse. Walk to world class restaurants, music, and craft breweries. Next door is a community food coop that is open to the public. Across the street are a popular, sometimes quite loud music venue, The Orange Peel, and Wicked Weed Brewery. Read about the Bunkum Stone (a landmark) by the front entry.
  • The room was perfect for my needs and in a great location. There were many breweries, bars and restaurants in walking distance. I had a great stay and would highly recommend this spot to explore Asheville and the surrounding area.

  • For the solo taveler i have been on my current wandering journey, this place was perfect. Enough accomodations for comfort when i needed it, enough great people in/out/around for good conversation for immersion into local culture. Great location central to everything at extremely reasonable rates. If youre looking for a comfortable place to lay your head at night, close to downtown breweries and great food, guidance on where to go, this is the place to go. I cant say enough great things about the gray rock inn and asheville. Also, john/tripp is a great, welcoming, and informative dude. • Kind, perfectly located, safe! Great for one night or extended stay.

    BuffeyMaria2015-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • The ideal place for a solo traveler. A+ location, honestly cannot get any more central to town with a brewery and concert venue literally across the street and dozens of shops and restaurants on the block. Despite the small room I never felt cramped, the house was quiet, and I never had to wait for the bathroom (which was always clean). Highly recommend the Gray Rock Inn to anyone traveling on a budget!

    David2018-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay if you are traveling alone and want to be in the middle of downtown.

  • Farrel is a most gracious host with a very clean condo as well as providing all necessary items but also snacks and some food. It was a perfect stat at the condo.

  • Great location & value. Could hear traffic noises but definitely didn’t bother us. Walkable to all of downtown Asheville.

    Elizabeth2018-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic spot. Clean, spacious, comfortable, and very convenient to all of downtown Asheville and the South Slope. Farrel was a great host - very friendly and welcoming upon check-in, and provided a bunch of tips/recommendations for our visit. Would definitely stay again!

    Jason2019-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • First let me start by saying all the extras are there if you need anything! It was just like walking into my own home. We met Farrell at the condo, he showed us around and made sure we had everything. There were breakfast items so we didn’t have to rush out to the store the first night. Farrell and Jan take great care in making sure you have everting you could need, ponchos, umbrellas, information on things in and around Asheville, hairdryers, cleaning supplies, snacks, I could go on and on. There is a little road noise but the white noise machine provided easily drowns that out. I will say there are instructions in the booklet that states the fire trucks will come in the event of a smoke alarm going off, take this seriously! Someone in another condo was cooking at 4am, set the alarm off and we had not 1 but 3 fire trucks show up! That was a great sound-off for my birthday! 😀So you should feel very safe in this condo! The condo is located near very nice restaurants and at the recommendation of Farrell, we went to Chai Pani, if you love Indian food you have to go there for the butter chicken. Asheville is a wonderful community and everyone makes you feel at home. We will be recommending this home away from home to all of our craft beer buddies, as well as those who just want to see all Asheville has to offer! We plan on visiting again soon! Also make sure you go to the Dueling Piano Bar, it’s a great night out!

  • Perfect location to explore Asheville. The condo was super clean and had lots of little extras.

    Teri2019-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I were able to spend a long weekend exploring Asheville for the first time, and we are glad we picked Farrel's place! Located on the edge of Downtown, we had an easy walk to numerous restaurants, shops, and attractions. The space was cozy, clean, and as advertised. It was really nice to feel like we had our own private condo to come back to in Downtown Asheville, so if that's what you're looking for, this is the place for you.

    John2018-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • Nice host and convenient to get around downtown Asheville

    Brent2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for a long weekend and absolutely loved this condo. It was in the perfect location so we were able to walk almost everywhere. The parking spot was great and super convenient. We were delighted that there were also a few snacks in the condo - including some eggs, bread, and yogurt! It is right next to the highway, but with the bedroom door closed, we barely heard anything. Farrel was extremely kind and courteous. We couldn’t have asked for a better place and I would highly recommend it to all!

If you are looking for a secluded mountain getaway this is not the place but if you looking to be in the heart of downtown festivities then our loft is the perfect place for you. Our loft has local art, full window view of College St., high ceilings, exposed brick and an amazing balcony. We are right in the center of all of the downtown action. Downtown is lively especially at night where you can enjoy craft cocktails, amazing food and live music.

  • Loved this downtown loft! We were visiting Asheville with our 4 month old baby and wanted to be close to all the restaurants, shops, and breweries in the city and this loft was the perfect location! The loft had everything we needed and more

    Katie2016-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful apartment. Really well decorated. Right in the center of downtown Asheville. Lots of Ubers available for drives out to Biltmore or the spas. Street noise really wasn't an issue (we stayed over on Saturday night). Krista was very responsive even though she was out of town for the weekend. I would definitely book again and would recommend to anyone in Asheville for a long weekend!

    Ben2017-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • Krista and Andy were amazing hosts and made our stay incredibly easy. The condo was in an incredible location for exploring downtown Asheville and was a perfect cozy getaway. Would definitely stay here again!

    Katie2018-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful loft in the heart of downtown Asheville. It’s walking distance to all the restaurants, shops, bars you could ever want. We only got in the car once the whole weekend and it was to go zip-lining (which was a blast!) the loft is exactly as pictured; clean, stylish and comfortable. Krista is quick to communicate and makes sure that her guests have everything they need. Check in was easy. We were sad to leave and hope to come back one day!

  • Great location that is both quiet and a quick walk to downtown Asheville. Beautiful place!

    Dan2019-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy house, the inside is a labor of artistic love. Great location. Lots of small touches, very clean, and easy to communicate . The outside appears to be a work in progress, but based on the interior, I am sure the exterior will be artificially beautiful very soon. The morning we left, we had a treat of seeing a family of wild turkeys (mom, dad and 4 babies) AMAZING!

    Ronda2018-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Adam's place is terrific. Clean, fresh, and livable. It's a quick walk to all the action downtown, but also a great spot to spend an evening on the porch. THere are lots of lovely touches that don't necessarily show up on the listing, but make the stay even nice. Adam is a great host!

    Townsend2018-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Adam's place was as clean and stylish as pictured, and the location was lovely! There were a number of other positive reviews and I agree with all of their glowing feedback about the location and the cleanliness of this space. My husband and I enjoyed the coziness of the living room after long days exploring the area and it was a short walk in the evenings to a number of great breweries and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again the next time we are in the area!

    Kelly2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Adam’s place! The house was clean and at a extremely convenient location close to downtown. We certainly recommend his house when visiting Asheville!

  • Adams’s place was everything as advertised. The inside was very clean and newly renovated. The house was walking distance (about a mile) to restaurants and bars downtown, which was fantastic for my group. Adam was very responsive and made sure that we were happy throughout our stay.
